About

Therapy Tales is a series of standalone cartoons about the experience of therapy, examining the dynamics and minutiae of therapist-client interaction.

Topics range from the serious to the downright surreal with a cast of creatures and running gags who represent the main characters’ projections and dysfunctions.

I am not a therapist, am not training to be a therapist and I am not in therapy. I just write cartoons about it.

Other cartooning and illustration work can be found here, including cartoons published in magazines and academic textbooks.

  4. Very witty blog and the themes does hit a chord. Thanks to my narcissitically disordered mother, I have been in therapy for years.
The feeling that my presence was abundantly redundant during those sessions was overwhelming, with my worries added that my sleepy therapist’s head would actually drop onto the table. :D

    • Thanks for reading and commenting. I’ve had a lot of people tell me their therapists *have* actually fallen asleep in session.. and read plenty of therapist survey data to confirm this. :)
