
I’m reading an awesome (and frankly exhaustive) book about ethics. One of the things I’ve read is about a task force in 1949 that tried to define psychotherapy:
“..an undefined technique which is applied to unspecified problems with a nonpredictable outcome. For this technique we recommend rigorous training” (Lehner, 1952, p. 547).
Brilliant.
