Archetype – Therapy Tales #316

Archetype: In psychology, an archetype is a model of a person, personality, or behavior.

Jungian Archetype:  Jung developed an understanding of archetypes as being “ancient or archaic images that derive from the collective unconscious”

I got very excited yesterday when I discovered an awesome website of all things Jungian (my favourite flavour of therapist.. slurrrp*) and in particular, this humongous list of archetypes (of which there are, apparently, rather a lot).

This cartoon in particular addresses the damsel, the artist, the king, the guide, the shadow and the void – simply because they were the easiest to turn into “arches”.. though I am sure I am by no means finished with this. :)

* This cartoonist does not endorse the licking of therapists.
