We don’t have TV adverts in the UK for psych meds (well, not that I’ve seen).
We certainly don’t have entertaining adverts like this’un:
If we did, I’m sure it would be adverts for frikking CBT rather than the latest outpourings of the pharmaceutical boffins. But perhaps not. Clearly there is no fiscal incentive for over-prescribing therapy as there is for drugs.
Perhaps in order to compete with “Big Pharma” the therapeutic community should organise its own lobbying group waving fistfuls of cash around.. perhaps “Big Shrinka”. What do you thinka?
